Hazel categorizes every violation that is tied to an inspection into one of the following categories:
- Contamination - violations may include cross-contamination of foods, food sources, storage, insects/rodents, cleanliness of utensils, waste handling, and usage of chemicals.
- Temperature - violations may include improper food temperature controls, such as hot/cold holding and cooking temperatures.
- Employee - violations may include improper management procedures, employee procedures, food establishment permits, inspection reports, worker hygiene, attire, training, and certification.
- Facility - violations may include improper water supply, plumbing/sewage, toilets, sinks, and other building structures.
- Other - any violations that do not have any accompanying text which would allow us to categorize it into one of the above categories will be labeled as "Other".
